Circus

We got to take the kids to their first circus on June 4th.  It was the Carson and Barnes circus and we ended up with free tickets because someone gave them out at Firestone.  I thin it was because they did some work on one of the circus vehicles.  Anyway, you can't beat free tickets.  Before the start of the main circus, they had a small petting zoo and some rides.  Nolan was really excited about the train but wouldn't go on it at first so Shelby had to go alone.

The kids liked looking at the animals but the preferred feeding the little goats to any of the other animals there.  Shelby thought they were especially funny.  After feeding the goats, we went over to see the elephants and Shelby and I went for an elephant ride.  Nolan didn't want to go and I don't think he really would have enjoyed it.  They sure sway a lot up there.

After we were done on the elephants, Nolan had decided that he did want to ride the train after all but only if daddy went with him.

Shortly after that, it was time to head into the tent for the main circus events.  If you have never been to a circus or had to sit in a circus tent, they are hot and stuffy.  It really didn't help that we had a ridiculously hot summer.  However, we still had fun.  Here are some pictures of some of the acts we saw.

All in all it was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed most of it.  It was a little long but since there was a constant change in performances the kids didn't seem to mind too much.
